How to create French Chic bedroom on budget.

How to create French Chic bedroom on budget
I love French chic style furniture and when I was younger this was like a must have bedroom!
I think we all had this moment in our lives. Even as a grown up I had my bedroom in a French chic style before I have moved to this apartment! Whenever I speak to people and mention French chic, people automatically give me answer- its soo expensive to create that! Here I am again, your rescue to find the style, explain the style and make you style your furnish your bedroom without the price tag!

There few things you need to have in mind if you want to create French Chic bedroom:
1.       Furniture style. It’s very easy to get lost here. Look for the ornament types, the leg types and shapes. Basically you want to match you dressing table to side table and cabinet. It’s very easy to mix it wrong! When you buy online furniture, there are not always collections and often to save money we just tend to pick cheaper options. This isn’t a problem if you know what to pick! I have showed a pretty example below on what works what doesn’t! Is the leg design matching? Remember, leg need to be the same so the front shape.

2.       Finish of the handle. Is it copper, bronze or maybe gold? I mean gold and silver works in jewelery but I wouldn’t say particularly when it comes to furniture so be careful with that.
3.       Metal or iron finishes. You can mix metal curved iron bed as long you have few other items and the curve direction matches the furniture direction. French design is very delicate. When you have Shabby chic- then you have more vintage and heavier furniture. Here, you want to ‘’fly’’ in your bedroom. I know sounds super silly, but basically you want to feel fresh and light, not overwhelmed with heavy furniture. Metal frame bed like this below cost £95! Bargain!

4.       Mirror, mannequin and screen it’s a must! Basically, this will make your bedroom complete. Try to go for screen with elegant print on. This mannequin is for example £35 at homesdirect365.com
5.       Price! It doesn’t have to be pricey! Look online for French bedroom furniture. You have plenty of ideas, and always click ‘’ lowest price first’’ saves you scrolling! You can grab side tables from as low as £50 and dressing table from £130
6.       Check your local carboot and check gumtree or ebay! Look for the specific shapes and you can always repaint that ugly dark wood!
7.       Delivery. Try to search into website where you can get most of the items from same place. It will save you few pennies. Furniture delivery are the most expensive and once the company is sending you one item, usually if go over certain price, the rest will be delivered for free!
8.       Website. Check the website first before placing the order. Is the phone number visible? Is the office hours visible? When something goes wrong you need this!

That’s it I think. Creating French chic bedroom I think can be easy and enjoyable. As you can see it doesn’t have to be pricey, as this pretty much cover same price as typical high street store. Would you like me to create another post soon how to accessories French style bedroom?

  11. What a gorgeous looking room. I'm falling in love with white furniture atm but I think the whole French thing is probably a bit fussy for me.

  13. I never knew the rules of the legs so have learnt something new today. I think the French look is pretty but we tend to go for chunky in our house :-/

  15. Great post, I've actually learnt something. When I did up my room I just found pink and white things that looked cute and went from there but I did realise some things don't match and look odd with my bed. It's great to learn new things and when I move out and do up my house I'll know what to do a little better.
