Here, 5 must have poolside essentials!
1. Portable charger
It’s safe to say you’re going to be browsing Instagram and Facebook while lying by the pool, no matter how much we promise we’re going to detach ourselves from social media and our phones we’ll have them nearby for entertainment – especially if the hotel provides free Wi-Fi. This is why you need a portable charger. These can be charged up via the mains the night before and can then keep your electronic devices topped up throughout the day after an hour of Instagram or sending envy-inducing snaps to your friends on Facebook! Go on girl! Make them jealous!

2. Large sun hat
It’s important you keep your head protected while topping up the tan. I usually don’t have space in my luggage for any large hat so I usually buy them in local small shops! If the poolside is particularly busy and the last umbrella has been stolen, buy a huge hat that provides plenty of shade might just save the day. Also it's soo trendy!

3. A cover up
You don’t want to walk to the pool bar in your tiny bikini – or maybe you do, I am not going to judge – but a lightweight cover-up is definitely a poolside essential. I love the crochet and festival print kimonos available from Superdry, perfect for popping on when you need to leave the sunbed. You can perhaps check my last year post on how to style kimono in the city, so it’s not only a holiday outfit! I am a super savvy girl!

4. A good book
Leave the kindle at home, and truly embrace the holiday tradition of taking a good book along with you. Check out this list of amazing books to choose from, but alternatively, you can’t go wrong with your favourites such as perhaps my favourite Girl Boss, How to be Parisian ,YA novels such as the Hunger Games or that thriller you couldn’t put down a year or so ago that isn’t so fresh in your mind anymore.
If you’re looking forward to any movies adapted from books that are due to come out later in the year, these are also worth popping in your case for the poolside – The Girl on the Train is a good choice.
5. A range of SPF factors
Sun protection is important, which is why you should really be wearing factor 30 and above all holiday – but we all know as the tan progresses people go down the scale when it comes to sun cream. This is why you should pack a range for your getaway and keep by the poolside, which you can mix and match depending on how your skin is feeling. It’s easy to miss the very middle of your back or even your feet on the first day, so you might need the stronger factors for longer than usual if you’re dealing with burnt bits. I always have sort of high factor oil based as I find that my skin tan little longer! Also, think perhaps to maybe order a month intake of Skinade, as perhaps you may remember my last year post and how it helped my with my skin allergy!
Perhaps you may think of a waterproof camera but why not take InstaxMini? I have so many cute memories saved on a polaroid style photo from FujiInstax! It’s handy and you can snap anytime! I am definitely adding mine to my list! In a meantime, why not read my review on Fuji Instax Camera? Just so you know ;)
