The nights are drawing in, which means winter is upon us. Sad I know, but it also means that the party season is here. I always have a huge problem every single year, to find the perfect dress for awards night or any party I go to. This year I was fortunate enough, and I got my party dress from ChiChi London, ( mine is Raynie) but it comes in many colours so everyone can pick whatever they like. Of course, everyone has a different style and different needs so it good to have a little look into what you after! This is why, I have combined few bits for you to have a look and chose and think while you picking your perfect dress!
Now is a good time to go shopping for party dresses, and shoes. Once again, no particular style of dress is dominating. This means that there is plenty of choice. It really does not matter how old you are, whether you are tall or short, rail thin or curvy there is a party dress out there for you. There are still lots of maxi dresses on the rails, but if a mini is more your style you can find those too.
Texture and interest
It is also nice to see the way in which designers have used texture to add interest, and give a more luxurious feel to their dresses. Lace and beaded dresses are set to be very popular. Some designers have gone all out and used these highly textured materials for the whole dress, but most have opted to use two different fabrics. Typically, the top part is made from lace, or embellished material, and the skirt being made from a lighter, smooth and floaty material. The contrast is nice and produces a very elegant look that will work well for many women.
For me party shoes normally mean a nice pair of heels. I am not that tall, so need the extra height, so I do not literally disappear in the crowd. However, because I cannot walk far in them I usually have to kick them off at some point in during the evening. This gives me the perfect excuse to buy two pairs of party shoes to go with every outfit. Fortunately, this year, there are plenty of low and high-heeled models to choose from.
If you do not have far to walk, a pair of the wide strap sandal style shoes that are still available from many retailers are a good choice. On the other hand, if you want a shoe that encloses the entire foot a pair of traditional court shoes are ideal. They even look elegant when worn with jeans or trousers, so are a very versatile addition to your wardrobe. Mine are from www.DorothyPerkins.com and I always check the sales!
Colour wise, the choice, this year, is quite limited. Most of the shoes you will see come only in black, gold or silver. It is also worth noting that the majority of this year’s party shoes have a shiny finish. Patent leather is clearly back in vogue.
Low cost party shoes and dresses
Take advantage of the Black Friday sales frenzy. On that day, many retailers offer discounts of 50% or more, but you will need to get up early to grab the best bargains but also Boxing day sales after Christmas! New year most shops of UK high street stores will be fulled with sales so, don’t miss that!
Over the past couple of years, it has become a big thing in the UK. Queues form outside many of the bigger stores from early in the morning. The clothes with the biggest discounts sell out fast. The same happens on-line, with some retailers starting their website sale as early as 6am, so you have to be organised to get the best deals.
