Flamingos are back 2015
Maybe, I am little late with this post and it should go live late December/ beginning of January but I wanted to wait patiently and see what’s going to happen. Marsala hit the blogs, news and creative industry with not particular positive result. In my opinion, Marsala will stay ”Colour Of the Year’ in name but not in reality. This year we can see huge interests in metallics (copper, bronze) but also by mixing these with amazing pastels, pinks, turquoise or bold blues.  I already talked to you about dusty pink and copper, so if you want to see my lovely mooodboard click here.

Within surface design we have all sort of old trends coming back, Renaissance or Spanish prints! Zara and H&M lunched new collections where perfectly shows the new trends, beige/ neutrals  with damask /leather combined with Spanish & Italian floral motives. Again, all the neutral colours are combined with pastels and my forever loved geometrics!. Zara here and H&M here. Also of course the same like within commercial interior biophilic design’ and not only sneak to houses on wallpapers or tiles but also hanging upside down from our ceiling! Why not!Eco and sustaibility is the way to improve our life and help the planet but also is so amazingly trendy! ( I am eco freak btw.) Just so you know 😉

We also have trends in iconic furniture. Never dying Eames by Vitra chair or industrial up cycled pallets as coffee tables, this is the typical never ‘out of trend’ trend. I could chat to you all about trends for ages. There are also million articles and predictions but there is one trend I wanted to focus on today. It is animal trends for 2015. It all started in 1990’s by activists who were fighting against animal cruelty by chaining themselves to posts! People got aware of this issue and pictures of animal hit all public magazines. Soon after trend setters used the animal cruelty popular image and decided that this was the great way to get people’s attention and used them in multiple ways! Here we go, we have a trend! So, which animals will be trendy in 2015 ?? Before we answer that, lets have a look at the trends back in years. Animals whether domestic or farms, whether prints or body parts- were always part of our interiors I believe they will stay with us for quite a few years!

Let’s start with 2011. I am thinking deers..stags,,!Those crazy deer heads that are still trending today! I love them! This I think is one of the strong animal trend in interior design within accessories and prints. They just look so elegant and fit nearly all type of interiors!


2012 was the exotic year, Pink Flamingos and colourful Parrots were trending in interior design! Actually, the Exotic trends according to prediction will be back this year! I think, that even if one animal trend start in one year it does follow toward next year as not everyone is bang on with trends and some people need a time to adapt before making decision of buying pink flamingo wallpaper or leafy duvet.


2013 was a year when other forest animals started slowly walking into our bed sets, wall decor and accessories. It always starts with Fashion!So first, we could see cute owls in key rings, t-shirts then owls start appearing in prints, probably also after Harry Potter being so popular with his own magic owl, so everyone else wanted them right? Along with owls we had foxes, in 2013 that was really strong animal trend after deers and stags! Foxes where everywhere, wallpapers, t-shirts, canvas bags wall art; name it-have it! ! We loved the foxes, so they were still strong in 2014 along with pugs dog and bulldogs as well!! We had a bit of penguins and pelicans in 2014 interior design trends as well.


So, which animals will be trendy in 2015??. I believe Cats! Cats in Fashion design are trending strong for years now and it never gets boring!! Crazy cat lady t-shirts, cat ears in accessories etc. Next.co.uk , Asos, Very.com.. name it ! Just type ‘Cat’ in any website and you can pick not only from glamour cat shaped sunglasses but also t-shirts, hats anything, cushions, mugs.. all sort of staff!! Urban Outfitters already have few wall arts with cats! and also wild animal print patterns are trending again!

 Parrots, hummingbirds and flamingoes will go this year along with cats! I think Flamingos stronger than parrots & hummingbirds! Yes, they are back! I know I know, not everyone like flamingos and yes I know not everyone likes Pink! ..but you do have to agree..it is super sweet trend!     I love the Owl Lamp! Don't ask me why, but I've had a weird obsession with owls lately. When I buy things for my home, whether it's tea cups, mugs, pillows or accent decor, I subconsciously always buy one with an owl…

      Jak co roku wszytskie zwierzaki tez sie powtarzaja. Wcale sie nie zdziwie jak np. Lisy wroca za rok , bo troszke ucichly .. a przyznam,ze lisy to byl moj favoryt. Jednakze flamingi chyba beda najmociejsze w tym roku.

    I've rediscovered my like for gold printed things as well. I've always love flamingo's though. Not the real ones thought because they are scary. I'm digging your collections.
