Men’s Fashion: Getting Your Wardrobe Spring Ready
Although we haven’t quite reached spring yet, it pays to be organised, and getting your wardrobe ready gives you something to look forward to when the weather outside keeps you stuck indoors. Also, transitioning your wardrobe from winter clothes to spring ensembles can take a bit of time, so what better time to start than now? Here are a few tips and ideas to help you on your way.

Store Your Winter Clothes the Right Way
First of all, you need a plan of action. You know you need to put your winter clothes away, but it can help to know some useful storage tips in spring cleaning your wardrobe. A good idea would be to first wash and dry everything you plan on stowing away until the next cold snap. Make sure the clothes are completely dry before putting them in storage as moisture can encourage mould and mildew to grow. Even if they look clean, human sweat can cause discolouration over time, and may also attract moths! The last thing you want is to find your favourite fashion piece ruined when comes the time to change your wardrobe over again. It might also be a good idea to invest in some vacuum storage bags and boxes so you know your clothes are completely protected.

Go Shopping!
Now that you have successfully cleared out your wardrobe, it is time to go shopping! Investing in a few basic essentials plus a designer piece here and there can make you feel like a whole new person, so you don’t necessarily have to go mad and replace everything. However, spring is the perfect time to really bring out your personality in the clothes you wear. Whereas winter is dominated by typically neutral colours, you can afford to be a bit bolder come the warmer temperatures of spring. Both spring and summer are a great time of year to pull off statement pieces, so why not treat yourself? If you want to invest in some of the top brands on the market, then choose an item from the Off White collection that can be worn across the seasons. An Off-White Hoodie or an Off-White T-shirt can help you to pull off a luxury streetwear look favoured by the likes of Kanye West, Chris Brown and Justin Bieber.

Check the Material When Buying Shirts
Depending on where you live, spring doesn’t always mean hours of sunshine. For this reason, it is a good idea to have a variety of both long-sleeved and short sleeved shirts in your wardrobe. From gingham to stripes or plain block colours, there is a lot to choose from. What you need to be mindful of is the material. For example, linen is the ideal material for hotter weather as it is extremely light. However, do note that because of this, it wrinkles easily, so you may need to spend more time behind the ironing board! Oxford cloth is another material great for spring as it is not too light yet not too heavy that you find yourself sweating on your way to the shops!
For t-shirts, you want to go for cotton as it is known for its breathability. You can also opt for poly-cotton which usually comes with a cheaper price tag, and a good idea would be to buy a few of the same but in a variety of colours.

Shorts or Trousers?
Jeans are a staple in any wardrobe, but spring is the time to favour lighter washes than the darker denim shades of winter. The cuffed look is also a great idea to ensure your look stays fashionable whilst also providing the perfect balance between staying warm when there is a breeze, and keeping cool in the sun. Of course, there will be days where jeans are just not practical for the day’s activities, which is where a good pair of chino shorts are a wardrobe essential. They are simple, yet reliable and the simple addition of a stylish belt can change the look completely.

Don’t Forget Footwear!
Last but not least, you need to make sure you have the right footwear to go with the outfits you have chosen. Neutral colours would be best chosen here, as you can pair them with any fashion ensemble, so stick with whites, browns, and tans. Boat shoes are a great choice for spring. They are an iconic type of footwear, typically made of canvas or leather. A well-made pair will be waterproof and highly durable, making them perfect for the odd shower that spring tends to bring. You may also want to invest in a good pair of white trainers so that you always have something that matches perfectly with shorts, chinos and jeans. Adidas and Vans are hugely popular right now, so why not put aside some of your shopping budget for a brand-name pair of shoes?

Although it may seem far away, spring will be here before you know it, so check your wardrobe and see if it needs any new additions!
