One of the most essential things in the world is to be happy. Happiness increases your self-esteem, improves your mental health, and may even improve your physical health. True happiness manifests itself in a number of ways, some of which may surprise you. Here are some wonderful techniques to ensure that you are as happy as possible for as long as possible.
Watch A Comedy
They say that laughter is the best medicine, and although a doctor should be your first port of call if you’re genuinely ill, viewing a humorous movie or TV show is a terrific way to raise your happiness levels. Laughter releases emotions that have been suppressed, so if you haven’t laughed in a while and have been anxious, don’t be shocked if your laughter leads to tears. However, this is beneficial to you since you need to express your feelings on a regular basis to avoid being ill and experiencing stress, anxiety, or depression.
Retail Therapy
Although spending all your money in an attempt to make you feel better is a very bad idea and can have terrible long-term consequences, a little bit of retail therapy could actually be very useful. Buying yourself something as a treat will activate the reward receptors in your brain, making you feel good.

Even window shopping will work in a similar way if you don’t want to actually buy something. Or perhaps you can research something you want to buy yourself when you’ve saved up, such as knowing the benefits of choosing between new and pre-owned Rolex watches. You’re sure to feel better after this.
Eat
You may be feeling sad because you haven’t eaten enough of the correct food (or haven’t eaten enough in general). Nutrient insufficiency can have major consequences for your health, both physically and emotionally, so eating a well-balanced diet that includes all of the vitamins and minerals you need is critical if you want to remain happy. For a healthy dosage of happiness, eat meals high in vitamin B and omega 3 fatty acids.
Be The Person You Want To Be
When it comes to happiness, location is everything. If you are living in an environment that doesn’t fit you, it may be giving you health difficulties. It’s possible that it’s causing you actual distress. Take a glance about you if you’re feeling anxious and agitated and can’t figure out why. Is everything bringing you joy? Or would you rather be somewhere else? If you need to relocate, this could be the best thing for you. It may mean saying goodbye to friends and your job, but your long-term happiness is more vital, and finding your forever home is what you actually need to do.
Step Outside
Finding happiness can sometimes be as easy as opening the front door and taking in some fresh air. Low vitamin D levels (vitamin D is mostly derived from sunlight) can also contribute to feelings of depression, which is why stepping outdoors and going for a walk can shift how you’re feeling and make you considerably happier by the time you get back home. You may only need to go out two or three times a week for 15 minutes at a time to receive enough vitamin D, but going for a longer walk means you’ll get more exercise, which will help enhance happiness levels due to the serotonin (the ‘happy hormone’) it creates.
