A few days ago, I walked in Manchester streets in my t-shirt and jeans, sipping on ice coffee and thinking who am I going to call to get into some cool beer garden in the evening. Just to the very next day leave home for work wrapped in a thick jumper and holding an umbrella. We all know what does this mean… Autumn is knocking in! The days are getting shorter, the air crisper and brown leaves are dropping from the trees. It’s that time of year to curl up on the sofa under a duvet with a cup of hot soup and feel good TV. It also means that it’s time for the Autumn fair! So I will be journeying from Manchester to the NEC in Birmingham after the weekend to join the biggest UK Trade show, Autumn
The Autumn Fair Trade Show gathers around 1300 of the best and brightest from the world of Online and independent retail and brings them together under one roof, the roof of the NEC Birmingham ( which is only around 1h journey from Manchester and ekhm.. the train stops right at the entrance- well not right but the closest possible as is same building!) The show is open from 3-6 February 2017 and you can pre-register for all days or just pick one day but honestly, book yourself 2 days as there is so much to see!
Last year, I really enjoyed going to seminars and presentations and this year will be no different with the amazing array available. The Autumn Fair offers something for everyone looking for inspiration, advice or an idea of how to take their own visions and run with them. You will hear the success stories and pitfalls of others and can apply it to your own journey, the Q&A sessions give you the opportunity to pick the brains of some of the finest in their fields, as well as making business contacts which could lead to some great deals and discounts. Event timetable can be found here.
Some of the highlights this year that I have picked out not to miss include Gemma Riberti, Senior Editor, Design & Product Development – WGSN presenting twice, Monday 4th on Home & Gift Trends. Then on Wednesday 6th at 11 am Jake Barlow, Founder – Tighes Timepieces advising on increasing your social media following.
The seminars are divided into 4 categories but some cover more than one and in many cases all four of – Getting Started, Up and Running, Branching Out, Fine-Tuning. See the full list of exhibitors here

As is super cold in Manchester now, I will start with cute and warm jumpers from Luxmix Ltd. I love their designs and quirky patterns, yet amazing quality knits!
